THR490 Welding & CNC Independent Study
taught by Mark Willoughby in spring '22
This assignment required students to design a piece of furniture using a single piece of 2'x4' plywood. Once designed, students drafted their work and programmed and ran the CNC in the MSU scene shop to build their pieces. Once assembled, Jordan upholstered the top and added the stained verticals to turn her 2D stool into a vanity seat.
For this assignment, students were given a drawing and were first expected to create a cut list and determine how much material would be needed. Students then clean, cut, and M.I.G welded their pieces together before deciding how they wanted to use the final piece. This particular project became a plant stand.
