I'm a second year graduate student studying theatre design, with focuses in scenic design and technical direction at Illinois State University. When approaching a design, I like to start with the script as early as possible and use it as a guide throughout the entire process. I strongly believe the best productions are always incredibly collaborative endeavors. Inspiration for a great design can come from anything or anyone.  
 
I've spent the last few academic years working as a carpenter and painter in university scene shops, and I typically spend my summers in assistant technical director positions.
